Pineapple Mango Green Smoothie Recipe

Getting your daily dose of greens is much easier, and fun, if you can have them in a green smoothie. This green smoothie combines those greens with tropical fruit and some other healthy additions to give you the perfect kickstart to your day.

Let’s face it, getting in your daily quotient of greens can sometimes be a less than delicious experience. And fun? Eating a bowl or plate of salad isn’t exactly what I call fun. But if you can mix them up with other healthy/tasty ingredients into a green smoothie getting your greens through a straw is a decidedly more fun way of incorporating them into your diet.

This green smoothie, while it’s got plenty of greens, also has lots of tropical fruit flavors to give you a creamy and delicious green smoothie experience.

Mango and pineapple share the glass along with a banana (for extra creaminess) to help cut through that “green” flavor from the spinach in this green smoothie. Not that spinach tastes bad, but I think it tastes better when it has a fruit flavor to it. Don’t you? For an added kick of nutrients I add hemp hearts (omega-3 and 6 along with iron and vitamin E) and chia seeds (antioxidants, omega-3, manganese and magnesium) to the mixture.

A Pineapple Mango Green Smoothie to kickstart your day

I always start my day with some kind of smoothie. (But green smoothies are my favorite.) I found that it’s easier, and more filling, to whip up a smoothie and have that in the morning than having a bowl of cereal. Smoothies are portable, so I can take it with me if I’m off running errands and the healthy things you can sneak into smoothies is amazing! I love adding handfuls of greens and things like seeds, maca powder or other healthy additions.

Green smoothies, or any smoothies for that matter, are so easy to make up in the morning when you’re short on time. It’s easy to do an ingredient prep day (who are we kidding…prep day is just going to the grocery store to get the ingredients. Everything but blending it is already done for you.) and tossing it together is a breeze. So if you’re healthy eating regimen is flailing already into this new year, smoothies are here to save you.

We’re usually pretty good about getting enough greens, but so agree that smoothies may be one of the easiest ways to accomplish this. This looks wonderful! Thanks.

We have our green moments…but that’s why I like the smoothies. (My backup plan) 😉
