How to Make Bacon – A Bacon Hack You Need

bacon, bacon hack, black forest ham, easy recipe

I get it, how to make bacon is pretty easy, you either toss it in a pan and fry it or shove it into the oven and bake it. It’s not rocket science. But what do you do if you only need a little bit to top a couple bowls of soup or to sprinkle on top of a salad. Do you really want to have to deal with all that grease and the time it takes to cook the bacon? This easy bacon hack will let you have that great bacon taste without all the grease and it takes just minutes to make.

This bacon hack is NOT a replacement for bacon. I’m not suggesting you use this in your favorite BLT or to top your burger (although you could in a pinch). This is a hack that will make your life easier when you just want the flavor of bacon in a dish but you don’t need very much and you just don’t have the time to deal with the bacon grease or the time it takes to cook the bacon. It also will save you a ridiculous amount of fat and calories. You’ll get all the flavor while helping you to stick to that New Year’s resolution.

How to make bacon in one easy step

All you need for this, one of the best bacon recipes out there (in my opinion), is a few slices of Black Forest deli ham. Sure, you can use regular ham, but I really like the deeper bacony flavor you get from the Black Forest ham. Oh, and you need a microwave. A microwave bacon cooker helps, but is totally not needed since you can just use paper towels and a large plate. A one ingredient recipe, I think you can handle this.

This bacon hack will make your life a whole lot easier

I’ve used this bacon hack to top baked potatoes, soups, salads, casseroles and just to get a quick bacon fix. If you don’t normally keep deli ham around just pick some up and divide it into zip top bags and pop it into the freezer. Then you’ll always have some on hand for those topping emergencies.
