Oatmeal Cookie Smoothie

My favorite cookie is a hot and chewy oatmeal raisin cookie but since I’ve been watching what I eat, they’re not on the menu around here. So…to curb my craving I made this oatmeal cookie smoothie. It tastes just like an oatmeal cookie. Craving crushed!!!

This is an easy smoothie recipe too. There’s not a lot of ingredients and you probably already have everything you need to make this smoothie in your kitchen.

Smoothies are the breakfast we have every morning. It just makes things so much easier when we’re running around here trying to get off to work or the daily running around that needs to be done. We have the same smoothie every day. While that might sound boring, we both really like the taste so it works out great.

Vegan and Gluten Free Oatmeal Cookie Smoothie

This oatmeal cookie smoothie has turned into my afternoon snack. I’ve had a serious cookie jonesing going on for a while now and I’ve just been trying to ignore it. The other day it became too much for me to ignore. I even got all the ingredients out to make a batch of oatmeal cookies. (Ran to the store for raisins and everything.) Then I just stopped myself and said “no.” I started playing around with ingredients and worked up this oatmeal cookie smoothie instead.

One of the pluses of this shake versus the cookie is that the oats have a bunch of protein in them, so I get a nice hit of afternoon protein with my satisfying snack.

Is this smoothie the same as a buttery, chewy oatmeal cookie? No. But it tastes a whole lot like it and it’s way better for you than the cookie. And with the heat we’re getting here, the cold snack is actually greatly appreciated.

Get out that blender and whip up an oatmeal cookie smoothie.

A healthy smoothie that tastes like an oatmeal cookie? Yep! This oatmeal cookie smoothie tastes like a cold version of your favorite cookie.

Ingredients
  • ½ cup rolled oats
  • ½ small frozen banana
  • 2 dates, pitted
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 1 cup cashew milk
  • cinnamon
Instructions
  1. Add all ingredients, except cinnamon, to blender and blitz until everything is liquified.
  2. Pour into a glass and top with a sprinkle of cinnamon.

A cookie in a glass! I like the concept. And you’re right — this is much better for you than a cookie. Well, maybe not ONE cookie, but cookies are like potato chips — can’t eat just one. 🙂

They so are John! Eating one cookie just seems like an impossible task.
