Strawberry Smash Cocktail

Highlighting strawberries, the strawberry smash cocktail is a summer delight. Elderflower liqueur, strawberries and mint are a refreshing combination.

I went to a local bistro the other week and noticed this cocktail that sounded really good. It was a blistering 97 degrees outside with a humidity that seemed to be just as high. I couldn’t resist the idea of strawberries and mint so I gave it an order. I don’t remember what they called it, but I knew I had to recreate it here so that you too could enjoy the flavors. So I give you the Strawberry Smash.

This cocktail really hit the spot on that hot day. Given that our temperatures are running from 97 to 101 pretty much everyday now I could use one of these cocktails every day.

The Strawberry Smash Cocktail

The strawberries that we’ve been getting have had such good flavor, that this cocktail has tasted especially good. So make sure you use some good tasting strawberries in this…it really makes a difference in the flavor.

The elderflower liqueur give the Strawberry Smash a nice floral taste that pairs really well with the strawberries. And the mint just gives it a hint of flavor. Nothing overwhelming.

This is the type of cocktail that you really want to take your time sipping. It’s very light and refreshing and easy to drink quickly, but take your time with it and really enjoy all of the flavors.

Pull up a chair and mix yourself up a Strawberry Smash and take some time to enjoy your day. This cocktail will really make you feel refreshed.
