About

I’ve grown really tired of women, and girls (if you’re under 23, you’re a ‘girl’ in my world), bitching that they can’t “keep a man” or they don’t know how to “get a man.”  I’m here to tell you that no matter how many sexual positions you are willing to try, and lie about your level of enjoyment of said position…no matter how many cute little lingerie outfits you have…no matter how many sporting events, car shows, or headbanging concerts you are willing to go to…no matter how many of his smelly, rude, ugly, stoner, slacker friends you are willing to put up with…if you can’t cook him even a simple meal you’ll never get your man.

Really, it’s almost that simple.  I’m not too sure when this whole attitude came into being that you don’t have to be able to cook (at all), but I see how food companies and grocery stores play into this on a daily basis.

I’ve put this site together to help you get and or keep that man you’re interested in.  I can tell you, from my own personal experience, that being able to cook, even a little bit, will get you pretty far.  And it’s not about cooking a gourmet dinner like you’d get at The French Laundry or El Bulli.  It’s about cooking simple things like spaghetti and meat sauce, a roasted chicken, macaroni and cheese, or a chocolate cake.  You don’t have to have skills like a gourmet chef to do this either.  If you can chew gum and walk at the same time, you can cook.

BTW…

I love to cook, and eat, and I DO believe that the best way to man’s heart is still through his stomach.  Of course, by “man” I am referring to both men and women.  Because who doesn’t like to eat and be cooked for?

I’ve added this bit about the site because when I started, it was because my single girlfriends were always bitching to me about “finding the one,” or trying to stand out from the crowd while not looking like hooker.  But since starting the site I have heard from many of my single male friends and new readers, who are men, about how to seduce the woman they are interested.

Please let me know how these, or other recipes, have worked for you when trying to impress/seduce/land that special someone.

Homemade Lard and Cracklings Growing up in the Midwest and having grandmothers, and a mother, that did copious amounts of baking I was fortunate to have an early indoctrination to lard.  This is a place where lard is held in high regard.  I’m guessing that many of you don’t have much of a familiarity with lard, beyond the derogatory words associated with it that have been flung around millions of playgrounds over the years. Health providers have been on the rampage against trans fat for years.  It’s gotten to the point where states have gotten involved... [Read more]

Chicken Orzo Soup with Lemon I started chatting with Cari, a few months ago when she asked me if she could use my recipe for Corn and Crab Chowder on her site Can I Get The Recipe.  I’ve been hooked on her site ever since.  Since we’ve been talking so much, I asked her if she would like to write a guest post on My Man’s Belly and when she said yes, I was thrilled! Cari’s site, Can I Get the Recipe? dishes out free, doable, nutritious dinner plans that offer a variety of recipes complete with shopping lists every Friday. Delivered straight to... [Read more]

Blood Orange Caramelized Tarte Tartin I know, I know vampires are in style right now.  Twilight movies, Vampire Diaries television show, Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner – I haven’t been under a rock for the past couple of years.  Although, I have to admit that I am not smitten with the whole creatures of the night phenomenon that seems to be never ending.  But I am a big fan of Blood Oranges and their seductive blood red color and sweet flavor. Earlier, I posted a Roasted Sweet Potato Salad with Blood Orange Salad Dressing.  You’ve... [Read more]

Roasted Sweet Potato Salad Yes, Virginia, you can put roasted sweet potatoes into a salad! Since when do vegetables, specifically cooked vegetables, have to be relegated to side dish status?  Let’s not be casting our vegetables into some imagined pigeon hole.  How unfair!  Let them out to play and explore with the other foods.  Okay, I know it sounds like I’ve totally flipped my lid but hear me out on this one.  When you roast vegetables, their flavor gets a bit sweeter and their texture gets a bit softer but still has a chewability (yep, I’m making... [Read more]

Black Bean Soup with Citrus Lately my head has been spinning in about 1,000 different directions.  I don’t know what happens when your brain goes off on its own, but mine has led me down some weird rabbit holes.  My keys have taken what seems to be a permanent vacation, my body is listening when my brain tells it to wake up at 3 o’clock in the morning, I baked one of my polypropylene cutting boards onto a burner and I realize that I have to have black bean soup for dinner, that night, when it’s already 2 o’clock in the afternoon. Ordinarily, deciding... [Read more]
