Movie night or missed the carnival? This homemade kettle corn will settle all your cravings. Yes, you can make kettle corn at home.
Recipe type: Snack
Cuisine: American
Serves: 1
  • ¼ cup virgin coconut oil
  • ½ cup popcorn kernels
  • ⅛ cup sugar
  • ¾ teaspoon fine grained sea salt
  1. Add the coconut oil to a large 5 quart pot along with 3 popcorn kernels. Cover and heat over medium heat.
  2. Once the 3 kernels pop, lift the lid and add the rest of the popcorn and evenly spread the sugar around the bottom of the pan. Cover the pan and let the popcorn start to pop.
  3. While the popcorn is popping, carefully shake the pot. This helps distribute the sugar and kernels evenly in the pan.
  4. Pull the pan off the heat when the popping begins to slow down. Don’t wait for the popping to stop or you’ll have burnt kettle corn.
  5. Quickly pour into a large bowl and sprinkle with the salt.
