An Easy Parsley Pesto Sauce Recipe

Pesto sauce isn't only made with basil. This easy parsley pesto is inexpensive and just as delicious. Make and easy pasta recipe for dinner tonight.

  • 3 Cups Flat leaf Parsley
  • ½ Cup Roasted and Salted Pistachios (shelled)
  • Zest of 1 Lemon
  • ¼ Cup Parmesan Cheese
  • ½ Cup Olive Oil
  • Salt to Taste
  1. Add the first 4 ingredients to the bowl of a food processor and begin to puree.
  2. Slowly drizzle the olive oil into the mixture.
  3. You should have a parsley mixture that is thick, but still fluid.
  4. Taste it and add salt to your liking.
  5. Spoon the pesto sauce into a wide mouth jar. If it doesn't go all the way to the top, add enough olive oil to cover the surface of the pesto.
  6. Serve or put into the refrigerator for later use.
If you like a little heat, you could add red pepper flakes to your pesto.
