Breakfast at our house is a smoothie. The same mix of ingredients every morning. That might sound boring, but it’s easy and we both love the way it tastes. Today…was different.

Bacon, egg, sausage and cheese combined with biscuit dough all mixed together then baked. How could you have a better tasting breakfast than that? Sure, it’s not healthy (aside from the green onions that are in there and the chives on top) but sometimes you just need to mix things up a bit right?

Bacon, egg and sausage monkey bread is fun to say and so much fun to eat. It’s like pull apart bread on steroids. All of the add-ins are held together with soft pieces of biscuit dough. When you pull out a piece of biscuit you’ll get pieces of bacon, egg, sausage and/or cheese. It’s a different bite every time.

This monkey bread is a great brunch dish. It’s perfect for feeding a crowd. Especially since you probably shouldn’t eat this whole thing all by yourself. It’s got a 1/2 pound of bacon and a 1/2 pound of breakfast sausage in it. Let’s not forget the cup of cheese and 6 eggs. It’s definitely crowd food.

The drizzle on the top of this monkey bread is a tangy addition to the whole thing. It’s heavy on the pepper to give the bread a bit of a spicy kick. The snipped chives give it a nice bit of fresh flavor.

  • ½ pound breakfast sausage
  • 6 large chicken eggs
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ pound bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1 16 ounce can of biscuits, cut into sixths
  • 4 tablespoons butter, melted
  • For the Sauce
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • ¼ teaspoon sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • chives, for topping
  1. Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Cook the breakfast sausage and drain it on a paper towel lined plate.
  3. Cook the eggs as scrambled eggs and remove from heat.
  4. Add the sausage, eggs, cheese, bacon and biscuits into a 1 gallon zip top bag. Pour the butter into the bag then zip up the top. Shake to combine and to fully coat all the ingredients with the butter.
  5. Pour the contents of the bag into a lightly greased bundt pan.
  6. Bake for 30 minutes.
  7. While the monkey bread is baking, make up the sauce.
  8. Add all of the sauce ingredients into a small saucepan and heat over medium heat. Keep stirring while the sauce is on the burner and cook until the edges begin to bubble. Then remove from heat.
  9. Once the monkey bread is done cooking let it rest for 10 minutes then turn upside down onto a plate.
  10. Top with the sauce and snipped chives.

Looks healthy to me, protein, calcium, carbs, !!!! Certainly a smoothy and Monkey Bread !!

I’m not so sure how healthy it is…but it tastes delicious!
