Grilled broccoli is tender crisp with a great smokey flavor from the grill. This easy recipe makes a light side dish for all your grilled mains.

  • 2 heads broccoli
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • kosher salt
  • crushed red pepper
  1. Cut broccoli heads into pieces. Equal size pieces is best so that it all cooks at the same time.
  2. Fill a 4½ quart saucepan with water and bring to a boil. Once water is boiling, add the broccoli to the water. Cook for 2 minutes.
  3. Remove broccoli from the water and place into an ice bath to stop the cooking. You'll notice that the broccoli is bright green. It should look that way.
  4. Pre-heat your grill to high.
  5. Drain the broccoli and toss with olive oil, salt and red pepper (salt and pepper to taste).
  6. Once grill is hot, place florets onto the grates.
  7. Cook for 5-7 minutes then turn the broccoli over to cook the other side. Continue to cook for another 5 minutes then remove from grill.
  8. Serve.
